FILE TRANSFER PROTOCOL

This has to be quick...i'm late.

I don't know if I've ever explained how we feed from the field before, but basically, we take this Dell Laptop everywhere we go. It's equipped with Avid News Cutter. We firewire straight into it from our DV camera. Edit our shit, export the sequence as a quicktime mov file, and uploaded it to an intranet system housed at Chambers. We do that with a real simple drag and drop program called FileZilla. Back in house, any number of people, usually Schop, download the file from the intranet system we upload to, drop the video onto an Avid sequence, and dump the sucka to tape. No obvious compression to it...no loss of quality. It's a pretty sweet little set up. When it works.
